What is GM?

GM, The most basic of all game making.

Yes, I've tried most ton's of designing software, like RPG maker, and the Games Factory, although great software, it seems to be ether extremely difficult or too limited, GM or known as Game Maker is to only one I found fun, easy, and has thousands of possibilities! So, I give GM 6/6 if it had a bigger scale, I give it the max.

Also something that Mark Overmar's (the creator of GM) and Jacob Hadgood (I guess he helped make GM, don't know much about him) made is a basic book about how to use GM, it comes with a CD that has 9 editable games, But I say he doesn't want you to make a game just like his, anyway it teaches the basics for any age, about GM.
This book is forward by Phil Wilson, the producer of the game Crackdown.

How do I learn basics about GM, without buying the book?

Well there is two places you can learn about, Yoyo Games well help, you may want to join the forum section, this is were a lot of people help out. And this site Illousionest, helps too.
